Bacon, Cheddar and Chive Scones

Ingredients

  2 cups flour

  2 tsp CALUMET Baking Powder

  1/4 cup butter or margarine, chilled (1/2 stick)

  3 eggs, divided

  1/2 cup light cream

  1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

  8 slices OSCAR MAYER Center Cut Bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled

  1 Tbs chopped fresh chives

  1 Tbs water

Directions

Mix flour and baking powder in large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Beat 2 of the eggs and cream in medium bowl. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened.

Stir in cheese, bacon and chives. Shape into ball. Knead dough 10 times on lightly floured surface. Roll out to 12 x 6-inch rectangle.

Cut into 8 (3-inch) squares; cut each square in half diagonally. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Mix remaining egg and water in small bowl; brush over tops of scones.

Bake at 425°F for 14 to 16 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.
