Bag 'n Season® Sauerbraten

McCormick® Bag 'n Season® Beef Stew makes this sauerbraten so easy to make. Gingersnaps are the secret ingredient.

Ingredients

  2 lean beef stew meat

  1 package McCormick® Bag n Season Beef Stew

  1 Tbs flour

  1 1/4 cups water

  1/2 cup gingersnaps, finely crushed

  1/4 cup white vinegar

  1/4 tsp McCormick® Black Pepper Ground

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Arrange opened Cooking Bag in 13x9-inch baking pan or dish. Place beef in bag. Add flour; toss to coat.

Stir Seasoning Mix, water, gingersnaps, vinegar and pepper until smooth. Pour over beef. Close bag loosely with nylon tie. Cut 4 small holes in top of bag to allow steam to escape.

Bake in lower half of oven 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Remove from oven. Let stand 5 minutes. Cut open bag. Stir before serving.
